Do you have some paints and brushes in a corner collecting dust? Is there a violin tucked away in a closet that your child no longer plays? If so, why not donate these items to the RePaint Arts Supplies Drive or the RePlay Murphy Instrument Drive?
To donate arts supplies, the Arts Council offers the RePaint Art Supplies Drive, which was created by Kate Curtin, Arts Council’s youth program director. The goal of RePaint is to collect art supplies and put them in Moore County Schools’ art classrooms. All types of supplies are welcome, including paints, any kind of paper, brushes, canvases, markers, pencils, and sketch books.
To donate musical instruments, the Arts Council of Moore County and Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills offers the RePlay Murphy Instrument Drive, which was started by the late Bob Murphy, a Kiwanian and local musician who played regularly at the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst. The goal for RePlay is to collect new and used musical instruments and give them to Moore County school band and orchestra students free of charge.
