Digital Art: Create with
“Procreate” Digital Drawing App

Tue., October 7, 2025 | 6:30-7:30 PM

Arts Council Galleries at Campbell House
(482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines)

During this session, local illustrator, Hannah Roser, will discuss how she uses the app, “Procreate,” to create digital illustrations. She will share her journey of using digital art and explain the benefits and shortcomings of this medium. In this session, you will learn about digital art-making platforms, Procreate’s capabilities, and how digital art impacts the art world and the creative practice. Using her iPad and Apple Pencil, Hannah will demonstrate how she creates fun, professional and silly illustrations using Procreate. She will encourage participants to discuss, ask questions, and share their inspiration. While geared toward visual artists, many artists can gain benefits from learning about and using this powerful digital tool.

SESSION LEADER: Hannah Roser is a local illustrator and designer (as well as a partner, a friend, and a dog mom), originally from Rochester, NY. She earned her BFA in Illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology and made the trek down to NC in 2021. Hannah has worked closely with businesses in Rochester, NY and locally with promotional design work including posters, merchandise, custom artwork, and logos. Hannah is a member of the Arts Council of Moore County’s Board of Trustees, enjoys collaborating with other artists, and aims to capture the warm and silly moments of life and storytelling through her illustrations. Have you ever needed a good photo of yourself for your website, social media, or a publication? Do you have a digital or 35mm camera and have always wanted to know more about how to operate it? Have you wanted to understand all the settings in manual mode? If your answer is “yes,” then this lecture & mini workshop is designed for you! During this course we will go over basic camera operations, settings, file types, lighting, and composition. After the presentation we will split into two groups to practice shooting. (Cellphones can be used instead of cameras.)

Currently, she works primarily with weddings & events and has an extensive portfolio in portraiture, branding, and lifestyle photography.
