Wylie Thornquist

Visual Artist

School Placement: Aberdeen Elementary School
College: Williams College

Wylie Thornquist is from Garrison, New York, and has been working in sculpture, quilting, printmaking, drawing, and painting throughout his time as an undergraduate student at Williams College, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art history and studio art. He is a mixed media artist who uses textile art, book-binding, printmaking, watercolor, and drawing to reimagine visual image culture of the past, and explore its contemporary impacts upon embodiment, gender, and conceptions of history.

Wylie also has experience working with food pantries and farms in Berkshire County, through his volunteering work with the Berkshire Food Project. He is looking forward to gaining experience with teaching and maintaining an art practice outside of a college setting as an ArtistYear Fellow in North Carolina!
