Often referred to as the “poet of the violin,” Joshua Bell is one of the world’s most celebrated violinists.  His stage presence has brought him universal acclaim.  Recently appointed music director of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, he is the first person to hold this title since Sir Neville Mariner formed the orchestra in 1958.  Program includes: Mendelsohn: Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Op.21; Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61, Joshua Bell violin; and Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 in F Major, Op. 68, “Pastorale.”

4:00 pm        Depart Campbell House for Chapel Hill
5:30 pm        Arrive at TBD restaurant for dinner
7:00 pm        Depart restaurant for 7:30 pm concert at Memorial Hall
10:00 pm      Depart for approximate 11:30 pm arrival at Campbell House

COST:  ACMC Member = $290 / Nonmember = $330
Register by December 1, 2017 with $100 deposit. Final payment due January 22, 2018.

Costs include: Concert ticket (Orchestra seats), bus transportation, driver gratuity, dinner, and administrative costs.
